Superintendent Recommends CEC to Guide Strategic Planning Process for 2018-19 School Year

Superintendent Dr. Dane Delli shared with members of the Board of Education his recommendation to hire the Consortium for Educational Change to lead the district in the development of a new strategic plan. It is expected this work will begin in the fall and that a new plan be in place for the 2019-20 school year.

“Earlier tonight you heard me speak to some of the summary findings and conclusions of my Transition Plan. It is clear there are areas that need to be looked at more deeply and be addressed. However, addressing these can’t live in isolation of our work; they need to become our collective priorities,” Dr. Delli said. “By developing a strong strategic plan, we can begin to develop a common focus for the organization in which we are all working toward the same set of goals meant to address the key priorities of this district.”

The district interviewed several different firms and individuals but ultimately determined the CEC was best suited to meet its needs and be a partner with the district in this process. The process, which will include several opportunities for stakeholder engagement, will begin at the start of the 2018-19 school year and is expected to be complete by spring of 2019.
